Hi, I’m Alexandra.

I work with individuals and workplaces on the human problems that make life and work harder than they need to be: feeling stuck, avoiding difficult conversations, losing direction, clashing with others, making decisions from fear, or repeating patterns that are clearly not helping anyone.

My work sits somewhere between coaching, people development and practical behaviour change. It is a structured, honest space to get underneath what is happening, understand the people involved, and work out what needs to change.

When I first interviewed for welfare and public service roles, I was often asked why I wanted to do that kind of work. My answer was always some version of: “There’s a little hippy inside me that just wants whatever I do with my life to benefit the world around me.” That belief has followed me through welfare, public service, HR, learning and development, leadership training, coaching and people management. I have always been interested in why people do what they do: why they avoid things, get defensive, stay stuck, clash with others, make choices they do not actually want, and what helps them choose differently.

My professional background spans learning and development, HR, welfare, public service and adult learning. I have worked with award-winning, commercially successful organisations with strong market reputations, international teams and ambitious growth environments, as well as with people under pressure, facing uncertainty, managing conflict, trying to perform, trying to cope, or trying to change.

Across all of those settings, I kept coming back to the same thing: people do not make decisions from logic alone. They make decisions through emotion, fear, pressure, habit, confidence, values, assumptions, past experiences and the stories they are telling themselves. That applies in personal life. It applies in management. It applies in workplace conflict. It applies in the meeting where everyone is pretending the tension isn’t there.

I am calm, structured and direct. I will not tell you what to do, but I also will not sit there nodding while the same issue goes round in circles forever. I help people look at what is actually happening, including the uncomfortable bit: the assumption, the avoided conversation, the unhelpful pattern, the emotional reaction, the responsibility being dodged, or the choice that is available but inconvenient.

For individuals, this work can support career changes, life transitions, difficult decisions, lack of direction, burnout, confidence dips, or the feeling that something needs to change but you cannot quite work out what.

For workplaces, it can support difficult conversations, workplace tension, manager-employee friction, strained working relationships, team dynamics, feedback issues, communication breakdowns and conflict that has started to make work harder than it needs to be.

Different setting. Same human stuff. Something is unclear, avoided, unresolved or repeatedly not working. My role is to help people understand it properly, choose what happens next and make it happen. The work is about responsibility. The kind that asks: What is mine to understand, choose, change, say, stop doing or start doing?

Whether I am working with one person, two colleagues or a team, the aim is the same: Raised awareness. More responsibility. Better choices.
